Film: Could you be a mental health social worker?

Our new film, released today, invites you to step into the shoes of a mental health social worker and hear three stories – of the challenges you might face, and the impact you could achieve.

The stories, which are portrayed by actors, are based on input from people who use mental health services and from experienced social workers. They show the variety of tools mental health social workers use, from psychological therapies to legal assessments, and the range of different people they support.

If you want to make a real difference to people with mental health problems, and you can imagine yourself succeeding in this challenging role, our intensive two-year graduate programme may be for you. You’ll be paid to work in an expert team alongside clinical professionals, study for a master’s degree in social work, and develop your leadership skills.
