New places available to join the Think Ahead programme in 2018
Update: Applications for these new places have now closed. Applications to join Think Ahead in 2019 will open in autumn 2018.
We are delighted to announce that, due to an increase in the number of places available at some of our NHS and Local Authority partners, we are today opening applications for new places on the Think Ahead programme this year.
About the Think Ahead programme
Our two-year programme in mental health social work offers graduates and career-changers a job that is varied, challenging and rewarding. You’ll be paid to work in an expert team alongside clinical professionals, study for a master’s degree in social work, and develop your leadership skills – and you’ll be able to make a real difference to people with mental health problems. You can find out more about the programme here.
About these new places
This is a new opportunity to join Think Ahead in 2018 – if your application is successful, you’ll be starting the programme in July 2018 with over 100 other participants from this year’s intake. You will be working in an NHS Trust or Local Authority in Ashford, Braintree, Durham or North Yorkshire. Places are available only in these locations.
(If more candidates meet our standards than we have places available, some will be placed on our reserve list. Reserve list members may be offered a place in any location in 2019, or in 2018 in the event that other candidates currently allocated to the 2018 intake do not fulfil the conditions of their offer.)
How to apply
You can apply online here. If you previously applied for the 2018 intake and were unsuccessful, you cannot apply for these places. (You will be able to apply to join the 2019 intake when applications open in the autumn.)
Applications for these new 2018 places will close at 17:00 on Monday 30 April. The earlier you apply, the greater your chance of success, because we issue invitations to our assessment centres on a rolling basis. The assessment centres will be taking place in May.
