Do you have the right to work and receive public funds in the UK for the duration of the programme (July 2025 - September 2027)?

We are funded by the Department of Health and Social Care to run training across England. This funding requires trainees to have the right to work in the UK.

Unfortunately, unless you can secure the right to work in the UK, you will not be eligible to apply.

Are you fluent in English?

You will need to demonstrate your proficiency in written and spoken English.

Do you hold at least a grade C/4 GCSE in Maths and in English or English Language (not English Literature)?

(Or equivalent level 2 qualifications.)

These qualifications are a standard requirement across social work courses.

You can still apply without them, but you will need to take a Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification before we are able to match you to a training placement. You can usually arrange this through a local school or college.

Do you hold or are you predicted to hold a minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree by the time the programme starts, in any subject other than Social Work?

(Or overseas equivalent.)

To meet the academic demands of this programme, you will need to hold a 2:2 honours degree or above, in any subject apart from social work. Unfortunately, we cannot accept a third-class honours degree.

Do you hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle?

No

Social work requires a lot of travel, with home visits to the people you're supporting and your placement will most likely require you to drive. You are still welcome to apply as a non-driver provided that you are in the process of learning.

We will only be able to confirm a training placement for you when you have passed your driving test. We may also ask for evidence that you have a driving test booked during our recruitment process.
