Think Ahead is a national charity, working towards a society where everyone with mental health problems can flourish. This goal is more important and challenging than ever, at a time when coronavirus is putting people’s physical and mental wellbeing at greater risk.

This is an exciting moment for us. Our first programme – a graduate scheme providing talented graduates and career-changers with a new route into frontline mental health services – is now operating highly successfully. You would play a pivotal role in achieving this, by pursuing ambitious objectives which are set out in the information pack for this role.

We are looking for an inspirational and experienced Social Worker to join our Programme Team as a Practice Specialist.  Working with our host organisations across England, you will lead on ensuring effective local delivery of our pioneering approach to practice education in mental health social work and support the development of advanced practice skills in a range of social interventions. You will work alongside academics and senior stakeholders in the mental health and social work sector and support a range of ongoing processes e.g. our academic partner transition from University of York to Middlesex University.  You will directly support the Consultant Social Workers, providing practice learning to participants in units of four for the remainder of Year 1 where they obtain their PG Diploma in Social Work and then support their transition to Year 2 whilst undertaking their Masters and ASYE.

Think Ahead is committed to equality of opportunity, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

If you would like to discuss this role informally before applying, you can arrange a call with our Lead Practice Specialist, Jacqui Bell. You can contact Jess Gray at hr@thinkahead.org to schedule a phone call.

For more information please download the information pack.

To apply for the role you will need to download the application form, complete it and send it by email to applications@thinkahead.org. Please also complete and send Think Ahead’s equal opportunities monitoring form.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications and equal opportunities forms is 9am on Wednesday 9 December 2020. Interviews will be held on either 16 or 17 December.
