To drive change, we created the Think Ahead programme to offer remarkable graduates and career-changers a new route into mental health social work. With high-profile support from the Prime Minister to Stephen Fry, extensive media coverage, and huge interest from student and graduates, it has become one of the UK’s most competitive graduate schemes. Through the programme and our wider work, we attract talented people into mental health services, strengthen training, and spread social approaches to mental health across society.
We are looking for an experienced candidate to set up and lead Think Ahead’s approach to understanding, demonstrating, and increasing our impact. We’re changing the way social workers train and work in mental health services across England, to improve outcomes for the people that rely on them. We need to measure the impact of our innovative approach, demonstrate it to funders and professionals across our sectors, and use our learning to improve the programme.
This is an opportunity to make a pivotal contribution to a purpose-driven charity, and show yourself and the world that you can start up and grow a highly effective function from scratch. You will need prior experience of cutting-edge monitoring, evaluation, and research techniques, and enthusiasm for rolling up your sleeves and carrying out all the key work yourself in the start-up phase. Over time we aim to grow our charity, including the evaluation function, based on the compelling demonstrations of impact that your work will underpin.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated professional to join our Recruitment team. You will play an important role in attracting and selecting the highest-quality participants to the Think Ahead programme.
The Recruitment Associate is responsible for supporting the delivery of the recruitment strategy to attract high-calibre individuals into mental health social work through all stages of the process: from initial attraction of applicants through university careers and alumni events, to screening and assessing candidates to supporting participants up to the point that they start the programme.
